The Bank of the Bahamas is forming a strategic partnership with local businesses to help Bahamians create their own wealth. The Bank of the Bahamas and the CEO Network, with Bartlett-McWeeney Communications and GEMS 105.9 FM is launching the CEO Power Card, a pre-paid VISA card. Deputy Managing Director at the Bank of the Bahamas, Vaughn Delaney, said the plan for the pre-paid VISA was first brought up at the CEO Network Conference in June 2008.

"With things tight in the world economy, and only getting tighter, people are looking for better control over their spending," Mr. Delaney said.

Deborah Bartlett, CEO of Bartlett-McWeeney Communications and GEMS 105.9 FM, said "The partnership with the ceo power card will serve to assist in empowering Bahamians through savings… and businesses through distributorships and increased customer traffic."

Savings and discounts with the CEO Power Card include benefits from three major rent-a-car companies and 25 hotels in the United States, as well as discounts with local merchants to be announced.
